Water Utilities
84th Annual Meeting & Tradeshow
February 8th -9th
The Maine Water Utilities Association
welcomes you to our 84th Annual February Meeting and Trade Show,
cosponsored by the New England Water Works Association and the
Maine WasteWater Control Association. The February meeting has
long served as the venue for the demonstration of new products and
the exchange of operational tips and techniques. The
association's Associate Members provide much in the way of
resources and energy in order to make the Trade Show such a
success. The Program Committee, the Directors and other volunteer
members all contribute to this effort as well.
The 2010 conference will be held on
Monday and Tuesday, February 8th-9th exclusively at the
Holiday Inn by the Bay (HIBTB) and will feature all the
training, exhibits and other activities that have been held in the
past. The festivities will commence, however, on Sunday
evening with a Super Bowl party at the hotel. Past Super Bowl
events at the hotel have proven to be quite successful—so we are
looking forward to it.

Ensuring A Sustainable Future:
Energy Management for Wastewater and Water Utilities
March 17, 2010 Northern Maine
Community College – Presque Isle, Maine
March 18, 2010 Le Club Calumet - Augusta, Maine
This one day interactive workshop assists
facilities to become more aware of the tools and incentives
available to them to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy
costs. Water and wastewater sector utilities face many challenges
including: regulatory requirements, maintaining service standards,
increasing population demands on an aging infrastructure, to name
just a few. With rising energy costs, water and wastewater energy
costs can be
30%-60% of a municipal energy bill.
