Al Jellison was recognized with the Maine Operator Award for 2006 at the New England Water Environment Association's 75th Annual Conference on January 24, 2007 at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. During the Awards Luncheon Program Al was presented with the Award  by NEWEA President Phyllis Rand.

Many operators benefited from classes Al has participated in, most notably preparation for state certification exams. The Maine WasteWater Control Association has also benefited from Al's willingness to support the Association's mission and has held many appointed and elected positions through the years.
