MAINTENANCE FOREMAN
Kennebec Sanitary Treatment District


The Kennebec Sanitary Treatment District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Forman. The qualified applicant shall have demonstrated 5 years experience or equivalent in the operation and maintenance and troubleshooting of wastewater or related equipment, 3 phase electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, heat and ventilation, low pressure boilers, pumps and gear reduction, diesel engines. Other requirements are budgeting, supervisory experience, welding, metal fabrication and machining, spare part inventory.

Houlton Water Company
Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator


The Houlton Water Company (HWC) is accepting applications for an experienced A Operator for our Wastewater Treatment Plant. The candidate shall be required to perform but not limited to the following task: collect samples, perform lab tests, maintain records, read blue prints, maintain and operate all plant equipment. Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of plant processes and equipment involved in wastewater treatment, including mechanical, chemical, and biological. Must possess a State of Maine class “C” driver license. Must be a high school graduate and have completed a company approved wastewater treatment school and/or course. Necessary to have a minimum of 6 years experience as a wastewater treatment plant operator in a class II facility or larger. Must possess as a minimum current State of Maine class II Wastewater -Treatment Plant operator’s license.

The position is normally a day job (7:00 am- 4:00 pm, 8 hours per day , 5 days a week) but also requires working overtime, holidays, weekends, nights, and on call ( stand by) . Chief Operator Position


The Town of Old Orchard Beach Wastewater Department is looking for qualified applicants for the position of Chief Operator. This position is responsible for operating the WWTF and pump stations so as to meet all federal, state and local discharge permits and licenses. Collection Systems Foreman

The Collection Systems Foreman works under the direction of the Utilities Supervisor. This position involves administrative, supervisory, and operational responsibilities in managing the operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement activities for municipal collection systems and appurtenant structures. This position is considered a working foreman and is expected to direct and assist the employees in their daily tasks and activities. Specifically, this position is responsible for the maintenance and operation for the City's stormwater and sanitary collection systems including but not limited to: pavement restoration, structure adjustments, cleaning and maintaining the systems, drainage street markings, cross culverts, snow plowing operations. The position will assume the some or all of the duties of another foreman's position in their absence.

The foreman is expected to work in excess of 40 hours per week as needed for construction projects and / or emergency situations including snow removal operations.

The position requires considerable responsibility and independent judgment in identifying and establishing long and short term work goals and organizing and directing resources needed to meet these goals.

The foreman needs to be able to provide clear and concise communication with supervisors, subordinates, and the public concerning public works related issues is essential.

Additionally, the foreman needs to keep accurate and current records on all activities required by the department.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires a combination of training and experience equivalent to the following:

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance and construction work involving streets, earthwork, facility maintenance for a municipality, or equivalent related experience.

3. Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience or an applicable two-year degree in a related field.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

The District is seeking to fill the position of wastewater treatment plant operator, who will work under the general supervision of the chief operator. This position will involve monitoring, cleaning and maintaining plant equipment; performing or assisting in various testing procedures; and be responsible for general maintenance of the plant and pump stations. Some overtime and on-call is mandatory.
