2007 MWWCA Roger Gagne Award – Bradley Moore
The
Roger Gagne award is given for long time service to Maine Wastewater
Control Association. The award for 2007 goes to a gentleman, in whose
case I do not use the term loosely, who began his career as an
operator trainee in Brewer. After rising to shift operator, he was
hired as an operator mechanic in 1980 at Bangor. There he worked his
way up to instrumentation mechanic, chief operator, and finally
Superintendent.
Brad earned an Associates Degree from EMVTI, is a grade 5 Maine
certified operator and a grade 3 NEWEA collections system operator.
Brad was secretary of MWWCA from 1977 to 1979 and chair of the Mercury
Task Force in the late 90’s. His most distinguished action came as
chair of the Public Relations Committee when he produced a DVD on
career opportunities in the wastewater industry. The DVD has been used
throughout New England and Brad’s efforts were honored with the 2006
WEF Public Education Award. Brad has also received the Peloquin and
Presidential Service awards.
The Bangor WWTP has received numerous EPA awards under Brad’s
direction.
Brad is a member of NEWEA and WEF and currently serves as the NEWEA
State Director for Maine.
