Greg Cataldo is the recipient of 2005 Alfred Peloquin Award at the Annual NEWEA Conference in Boston, Massachusetts

Greg Cataldo receives the E. Sherman Chase Award from
outgoing NEWEA President Douglas Miller.

The Alfred Peloquin Award is named in honor of NEWEA’s former Executive Director in recognition of his initiatives in training programs for wastewater treatment and his many years of dedicated services to the New England Water Environment Association. The 2005 Alfred E. Peloquin Award was presented to Greg Cataldo at the annual NEWEA Conference at the Copley Marriott Hotel in Boston Massachusetts on January 18, 2006.

In his many years as a wastewater engineer, Greg Cataldo has volunteered countless hours of his time educating people across Maine and all of New England on water quality issues. He has also dedicated himself to volunteer activities in local and regional associations. In his role as the Convention Committee Chair for the Maine Wastewater Control Association, he was responsible for integrating operator training programs within the association’s conference structure. Later, as a NEWEA Maine State Director, Greg played a pivotal role in coordinating with U.S. Senators and Congressmen from Maine, and in educating them about the importance of properly supporting and funding water and wastewater projects throughout Maine and New England. Greg’s current assignment as the Government Affairs Committee Chair of NEWEA has him coordinating a joint effort throughout the NEWEA contingent and the associated states on how to better inform and educate the New England federal delegates and regulators on environmental issues that affect this area of the country and to let them know that NEWEA can be a valuable asset of information. Greg has shown a long-term willingness to volunteer his time and energy to further the interests of the industry, and to overcome obstacles that might discourage many, in order to accomplish the goal of advancing the cause of clean water in his state, the region, and the country.
