Janet Abrahamson
recipient of the
WEF Laboratory Analyst Excellence Award for 2007

This year’s WEF Laboratory Analyst
Excellence Award is presented to Janet Abrahamson from Brunswick,
Maine. Janet began her career in the laboratory at the Kennebec
Sanitary Treatment District in Waterville, ME in 1985. She is
currently working with the Maine Rural Water Association as their
wastewater technician and “circuit rider”. She has been the President
of the Maine Wastewater Control Association and chair of the
Association of Maine Environmental Laboratory Program Committee. While
in all of these roles, Janet has shared her knowledge and
understanding of wastewater treatment processes and laboratory methods
in seminars, workshops and on an individual basis. She has been
recognized for these efforts by receiving the Alfred E. Peloquin Award
in 2004 and the Lee Agger Award for excellence in environmental
training presented by the Joint Environmental Training Coordinating
Committee (JETCC Maine).
