Auburn Maine Sewerage District Recognized for Operations Excellence and is a First Place Recipient in the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Control Category.

The Auburn, Maine Sewerage District (ASD) was recently selected by the U.S. EPA for a National First Place Award in the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Control category as part of the annual 2006 U.S. EPA Clean Water Act Recognition Awards selection process. The District was honored at the New England Water Environment Association's 75th Annual Conference on January 24, 2007 at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts.

 

 

Al Jellison of the Bangor Wastewater Treatment Facility Receives the NEWEA 2006 Operator Award at Annual NEWEA Conference in Boston, Massachusetts
 

Al Jellison was recognized with the Maine Operator Award for 2006 at the New England Water Environment Association's 75th Annual Conference on January 24, 2007 at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. During the Awards Luncheon Program Al was presented with the Maine Operator Award  by NEWEA President Phyllis Rand.

 

 




Bradley Moore of the Bangor Wastewater Treatment Facility Receives the NEWEA 2006 Public Education Award for Outstanding Service as an Individual at the Annual NEWEA Conference in Boston, Massachusetts


Brad Moore was recognized with the NEWEA 2006 Public Education Award for Outstanding Service as an Individual for 2006 at the New England Water Environment Association's 75th Annual Conference on January 24, 2007 at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. During the Awards Luncheon Program Brad was presented with the NEWEA Public Education Award Mohamed Dahab, President of the Water Environment Federation.

 




Michael Grove of the Augusta Sanitary District Receives NEWEA'S Alfred E. Peloquin Award for 2006 at Annual NEWEA Conference in Boston, Massachusetts


Michael Grove was recognized with the Alfred E. Peloquin Award for 2006 at the New England Water Environment Association's 75th Annual Conference on January 24, 2007 at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. During the Awards Luncheon Program Mike was presented with the Award by NEWEA President Phyllis Rand.


 


 

 

Force Maine Recognized for Ops Challenge Success



Maine's Operations Challenge Team Force Maine received first place in the process control event for Operations Challenge held in Dallas TX. This award is sponsored by the Water Environment Federation. The team competed in division #2 which had 22 teams throughout North America. The award was presented to the team by Mohamed Dahab, President of the Water Environment Federation.

 


 

Maine DEP Employee Don Albert Recognized with 2006 State Wastewater On-Site Technical Assistance Provider Award

Donald Albert of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection was recently honored with the "2006 State Wastewater On-Site Technical Assistance Provider Award" by EPA.

EPA’s New England office formally acknowledged Mr. Albert at the annual New England Water Environment Association Conference Awards’ Luncheon in the Boston Copley Marriott Hotel on January 24th.



 


Established in 1929, the New England Water Environment Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose objective is the advancement of fundamental knowledge and technology of design, construction, operation and management of waste treatment works and other water pollution control activities and dedication to the preservation of water quality and water resources. Comprised of the six New England states, NEWEA serves over 2,000 members and is a member association of the Water Environment Federation, an internationally renowned organization.
