The Department would like to recognize Everett Hale of the Millinocket Wastewater Treatment Facility.

Everett is the type of operator who behind the scenes keeps the place running in top shape. His great mechanical ability has resulted in the Millinocket Wastewater Treatment plant being able to upgrade the aged electrical and mechanical equipment. In particular the installation of VFD equipment on the aeration system has saved the town a lot of money in contractor costs as well as energy savings.

Since entering the wastewater field in 1997, Everett has demonstrated professionalism and a dedication to continually increasing his knowledge by obtaining his grade III wastewater license as well as a grade II collection system license. He has been promoted to the position of assistant operator and is an integral part of the annual budgeting for proactive maintenance as well as daily plant and lab operations.

In summary, Everett is well deserving of this award since he typifies the professional wastewater treatment plant operator who with a mechanical background, a great work ethic and a strong desire to learn about the wastewater field has become the backbone of the wastewater treatment industry in Maine.
