CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT 2006

Daniel Bolduc and Bill Wood
Oakland Wastewater Treatment Plant

Maine Dep Commissioner David P. Littel presents Bill Wood, Chief Operator of the Oakland Wastewater Treatment Facility with a Certificate of Achievement

The Department would like to recognize Daniel Bolduc, Superintendent and Bill Wood, Operator of the Oakland Wastewater Treatment Plant.

With dogged dedication and great mechanical skill you both have kept a facility that is over 30 years old in amazingly good shape with much of the equipment operating well beyond its usual lifespan. Even one of the outside secondary clarifiers, exposed to the elements, still has its original drive!

You both also have become recognized experts in the technology of phosphorus treatment using ferric chloride and magnesium hydroxide to maintain phosphorus discharges at very low levels to protect the sensitive water quality of Rice Rips Impoundment in Messalonskee Stream.

It is evident you take great pride in keeping your facility and grounds ship shape; even tending a beautiful vegetable garden outside the office building.

Continue with the great work and thank you for protecting the water quality of the great State of Maine!
