Farewell
by Andy Rudzinski

To the Members of MWWCA:

I would like to express my thanks to the members of Maine Waste Water Control Association for the opportunity to have served as 2006 President. I am very proud to say I am a member of an organization that represents wastewater professionals from all over the state of Maine. The people of Maine are known far and wide for their love and respect of the natural environment, and their willingness to go the extra mile to care for it. MWWCA members are some of the hardest working, most skilled stewards of the environment in the land, and my hat is off to you all.

With Dave Anderson as President in 2007, I know we will continue to promote environmental education for students by reaching out to middle school kids with
the Poster Contest; at the high school level by supporting and participating in the “Stockholm Jr. Water Prize” contest; and by helping re-establish college level courses for those seeking to become wastewater professionals. MWWCA will continue to maintain close relationships with our law makers at the state and federal levels, getting them the information they need to make informed decisions. MWWCA will continue a strong presence regionally at NEWEA, and will continue to work with NEWEA on projects that directly benefit Maine. With the help of so many of you members, MWWCA will continue to provide excellent training programs at the Spring and Fall Conventions. We will support the wonderful “North Country Convention” which continues to grow bigger and provide great training and networking opportunities to all MWWCA members. MWWCA will grow our relationships with other professional and environmental groups wherever possible, and continue to work with state and federal regulatory agencies toward our goal of protecting our water environment and helping communities thrive.

Lastly, I want to say that nobody ever had more help as MWWCA President from their Executive Committee, MMA staff, NEWEA contacts, and rank & file members than I. Dave, I know you will enjoy your Presidency and be a great success!

Thanks to all again

Andy Rudzinski
Immediate Past President, MWWCA
